Aim:
To educate the poor and talented students of Bangladesh in order to meet the present requirements in the aviation sector at a lower cost
Objective:
1. The growing need of aircraft maintenance in aviation sector has back at the pick which need to fulfilled. To do so huge financial requirement is essential. But our poor students cannot meet that because of non availability of institute and finance.
2. To build up students as an Aeronautical Engineer, Aviation Administrator and Aviation Manager at less cost and time.
3. The program allows students to build upon the practical aviation maintenance knowledge and skill with the course related to advanced aviation, business, and management.
4. Students will acquire business and managerial skills, knowledge in the field of aviation managements as well as social and intercultural skills, qualifying them to take leading position in national and international airlines.
5. To provide a high level education with a special focus on aviation management which enables the students to recognize and solve problems independently by applying scientific concepts of Airlines cost Management, airport planning and design standard, Airport and Cargo Management, Airlines Marketing.
Aeronautical Engineering
Aeronautical Engineering is the branch of science and engineering that deals with the design, manufacturing, operations and maintenance of flying vehicles that operate within the earth's atmosphere. Like Aircrafts, airplanes, helicopters, missiles, rockets, hot air balloons, air ships, UAV's (Unmanned aerial vehicles) etc. Aeronautical Engineering is related to Aeronautics.
Aerospace Engineering
Aerospace Engineering has become a very vast field with many disciplines. Some of them are Aerodynamics, Propulsion, flight Stability and Control, Aircraft Structures, Aircraft Control and Dynamics, Aircraft Design, Orbital Mechanics, Fluid Dynamics, Thermodynamics etc.
Aerospace Engineering is being used in a vast variety of fields from aircrafts to space ships, and from cars to bullet-trains. Within an 100 years of the first flight of the airplane Aerospace engineering has grown and now in utilize in many fields and disciplines.
What will be covered in the course?
The core consists of seven units: *Business management techniques *Analytical methods for engineers *Engineering science *Engineering design *Project *Aircraft system principles *Aerodynamics Nine further units are selected from a list which includes: *Materials engineering *Further aerodynamics *Communication and navigation *Aircraft structural integrity *Aircraft propulsion technology *Gas turbine science *Automatic flight control *Further analytical methods for engineers- *Health and safety risk assessment- *Project management *Quality assurance and management- *Electrical and electronic principles Each unit is broken down into three or four independent modules which are assessed by assignment.

Maintenance and enhancement of quality and standards
The College has a clear organisational structure that facilitates thorough programme validation and review procedures. At the end of the academic year, each course team is required to examine students' achievements, discuss their evaluation of provision and consider whether programme modifications are necessary before completing a self-assessment report and action plan, if necessary. While this process is coherent, it has not so far led to a fully satisfactory level of curriculum and teaching development.
Engineering students' views are well represented at focus group meetings. Staff discuss with students their comments and meticulously respond to, and act upon, the points raised. Students were complimentary about the staff and said that their good working relationships often enable problems to be resolved immediately. The students were critical of the design of the college-wide student evaluation questionnaire which, they felt, led to unrepresentatively critical recorded responses.
The College has comprehensive procedures for verifying the quality of students' marked assessments, which are checked by both internal and external verifiers who write constructive comments on the work presented. The external verifiers often offer staff advice and act appropriately as critical friends.
Staff are responsive to feedback from both the internal review process and the comments from external verifiers and could demonstrate changes that had been introduced as a result of this feedback. These included modifications to the grading system for assessments and the submission to Edexcel of a request to introduce a new optional unit.
Quality of learning opportunities
a. Teaching and learning
Delivery is through a traditional range of teaching methods, mainly lectures and laboratory work. Class sizes are generally small, with less than 15 students. This facilitates good tutorial support, both in the classroom and in timetabled tutorial sessions. The staff have an open-door policy and are sympathetic to the needs of part-time students. They offer one-to-one tutorial support outside normal class hours according to individual student need.
b.Teaching is enhanced through the use of a computer package in one electrical module. Students indicated, however, that most of the other modules are delivered using a rather instructive approach with, in some cases, lecturers missing the opportunity to enhance their delivery by making use of students' own work experiences in the subject area. Nevertheless, results indicate that the approach is effective and largely suited to the learning needs of the students. Evidence from the poorly referenced projects suggests that staff have not succeeded in developing a reading culture among their students.
Teacher-training
New members of staff in the Faculty of Aeronautical Engineering are following a teacher-training programme. All staff are observed during teaching by senior staff members. Some staff have attended training courses and work visits to enhance their teaching but, overall, because of staffing difficulties, there is little indication of sustained teaching development.
Student Feedback.
Student feedback is very positive about many aspects of the provision. Students on the full-time aeronautical course were very enthusiastic about the whole learning experience, particularly the tutorial support. They consider the heavy workload acceptable in view of the fact that it mirrors what is expected of them in industry.
Part-time students said that the workloads were demanding but not excessive.
The provision contributes substantially to the achievement of the intended outcomes, with most elements demonstrating good practice.
